Mezzo-Soprano

Alexis was appointed as Principal Cantoris Alto Lay Clerk at Worcester Cathedral in September 2019, making her the first female lay clerk at Worcester. Alexis now studies with Andrew Hopwood, having previously studied with Helen Ludford-Thomas. 

 

Prior to this, she sang with the Old Royal Naval College Trinity Laban Chapel Choir where, for several years, she was responsible for the choir library and admin. She was awarded a Trinity College London Choral Scholarship in September 2014, Dame Susan Morden Scholarship in September 2016, The Ousley Church Music Trust Scholarship in September 2017 and the Ruth and Howard Charitable Trust Scholarship in September 2018. During her time in the choir, Alexis performed solos from extended choral works, including Handel’s ‘Messiah’ and Bach’s ‘B Minor Mass’.

Alexis was a chorister at Worcester Cathedral for five years, and was awarded Head Chorister Decani in her final year. Alexis is also a member of the nationally-renowned Rodolfus Choir, directed by Ralph Allwood, with whom she has performed in concert many times.
